Rome, Volunteering, and solidarity: a week of learning and community engagement

Gaining Knowledge and Shaping Career Plans Through Volunteering Training

During the training process hosted by the Agenzia Italiana per la Gioventù,  we participated in various activities and engaged in interactive sessions where we exchanged knowledge. Through Q&A sessions, we gained a better understanding of our volunteering rights and discussed what we could do in this field. This experience not only allowed me to acquire new knowledge but also helped shape my career plans.

Icebreaker Activities and Teamwork

On the first day of the week, we played icebreaker games to strengthen the bond within the group. These activities allowed us to get to know each other better and improved our teamwork skills. Additionally, the presentations we made and the games we played contributed to the development of our organizational skills.

Connecting with Energetic People and Supportive Coordinators

I was surrounded by amazing and energetic people. Our coordinators were highly knowledgeable and supportive, guiding us in learning about volunteering, sustainability, and social impact. Thanks to the organization’s strong group dynamic, we had the opportunity to connect with people of different age groups and share our experiences.

Volunteering with Acarbio

As an Acarbio volunteer, I had the chance to deeply experience the true essence of volunteering. In my volunteer work, I actively participated in various activities such as recycling, environmental conservation, and preserving fading traditions. We worked in the mountains, built shelters for animals, constructed wooden houses, and created safe spaces for bees. Additionally, I collaborated with the local community on projects aimed at raising environmental awareness. This experience strengthened my connection with nature and helped me better understand the importance of sustainable living.

The Video Project and Theatrical Performance

Furthermore, one day of the week was dedicated to preparing a video to explain the meaning of solidarity, and we staged a theatrical performance to portray the concepts of solidarity and volunteering. This activity allowed us to experience the power of teamwork and social responsibility.

Discovering History

We also spent a day exploring Rome, feeling the traces of history in every street. The training sessions took place in Frascati, near Rome, where I also had unforgettable experiences. This project not only contributed to my personal development but also reinforced how volunteering can make a significant difference in people’s lives. My time in Italy was not just a project; it became one of the most valuable experiences of my life.

Thanks for everything…
